The Bertha family welcomes its newest member, the boosted Bertha, with great pride from Estes. Featuring a two-stage rocket booster, this beauty completes the collection. At its core, a sport rocket, the second booster of this Multistage flying model rocket will propel the Bertha Skyward, reaching twice the height of the original Big Bertha.
When powered with an Estes c6-0 engine in the booster stage and an Estes c6-5 engine in the main rocket, the boosted Bertha will reach altitudes of 1000 feet. After the first stage ignites, the booster will jettison and gently tumble back to earth. Once the rocket reaches its Apogee, the recovery system's colorful 18-inch parachute will deploy, ensuring a light landing, allowing for quick preparation for another launch.
The construction of this rocket includes quality Estes body tubes, laser-cut wood fins, a molded plastic nose cone, and easy-to-apply water slide decals, providing a fulfilling building experience. Once painted to perfection, this Bertha is a must-have for any rocket collector.
To build the boosted Bertha, you'll need scissors, a pencil, a ruler, fine sandpaper, carpenter's glue, plastic cement, a hobby knife, masking tape, clear tape, primer (white), paint (orange, white), and an optional clear coat. These tools and construction and finishing supplies are not included.
For launching, you'll need an Estes porta-pad II launch pad with a 1/8 inch launch rod, an electron beam launch controller, Estes model rocket engines, starters, and recovery wadding. Additionally, four 1.5V high-quality AA alkaline batteries are required for the launch controller, which are not included.
Building your own rocket is an unparalleled thrill, suitable for long-time hobbyists or budding scientists and engineers. This advanced rocket kit, with its larger engine sizes and an intricate recovery system, is recommended for those with intermediate or above rocket-building skills.
The recommended engines for this rocket (not included) are: Rocket only: A8-3, B4-4, B6-2, B6-4, C6-5; Two-Stage: Rocket: B4-2, B4-4, B6-2, B6-4, C6-5; Booster stage: B6-0, C6-0.
The projected altitude for this rocket, using the C6-0 and C6-5 engines, is 1000 feet. The estimated assembly time, excluding painting and glue drying, is 4 hours.
Remember, the engines and other accessories are not included in the purchase, and must be acquired separately.
