The Estes 7300 Ghost Chaser Model Rocket Kit is a hauntingly beautiful and deceptively simple rocket that boasts a wide range of fantastic features. Designed as an easy-to-build, snap-together, beginner-level kit, this model comes together quickly and easily, even for the newest rocketeer.
Measuring nearly two feet tall, the Ghost Chaser Rocket features a striking silvery-white main body tube and a clear, five-inch payload section. A sleek transition separates the two tubes, reducing the rocket body from a standard 18mm BT20 to a svelte 13mm BT5. The blue translucent fins almost seem to glow when the light hits them, and the semi-transparent engine mount, nosecone, and mid-body transition also glow eerily in blue.
Since all Ghost Chaser components are pre-finished, there's no sanding or painting required. A clever system of slots, tabs, and clips (along with a well-knotted shock cord) holds the no-muss, no-fuss model together without a drop of glue. The included sheet of cool, custom, stick-on decals further enhances the fanciful flyer's appearance, making it look great almost straight from the box.
Launching the Ghost Chaser is as straightforward as the build itself. The threaded engine mount makes loading and changing engines a breeze, and the rocket flies on a range of Estes A through C engines, providing ample options for various field sizes and wind conditions. On an Estes C6-5 engine, the Ghost Chaser can reach a peak altitude of 1100 feet (335 m).
The tall payload compartment atop this high-flyer offers numerous possibilities, from conducting tests on the effects of rapid acceleration on various objects to simply launching something cool skyward. After ejection and deployment of the 12-inch parachute, the Ghost Chaser can be easily recovered, reloaded, and launched again.
To build the Ghost Chaser, only snap-together construction is required, and clear tape and a pen or pencil may be needed. To launch the rocket, you'll need an Estes Porta-Pad II Launch Pad, an Electron Beam Launch Controller, Estes model rocket engines, starters, and recovery wadding. Additionally, four 1.5V high-quality AA alkaline batteries are required for the launch controller (not included).
The Estes 7300 Ghost Chaser Rocket Kit is an easy-to-build, beginner-level model that delivers a thrilling and functional flying experience. With its translucent blue and silvery-white design, the Ghost Chaser is a captivating sight in the sky, and its no-glue-snap-together construction and cool custom decals make it a delight to assemble and launch.
