To build the Estes Sidekick, you'll need a selection of tools and supplies, including scissors, pencil, ruler, fine sandpaper, yellow glue, plastic cement, sanding block, hobby knife, masking tape, clear tape, primer (white), paint (black, orange, yellow), and clear coat (optional). For launching, you'll require an Estes Porta-Pad II Launch Pad with a 1/8 inch launch rod, an Electron Beam Launch Controller, Estes model rocket engines, starters, and recovery wadding. Additionally, four 1.5V high-quality AA alkaline batteries are needed for the launch controller.

The Estes Sidekick is recommended for rocketeers with Intermediate skills or above, as it presents a more advanced model rocket design and techniques. The projected altitude for this rocket is an impressive 700 feet (213 meters), and the estimated assembly time is approximately 2 hours.
