The Estes Blue Origin New Shepard 2198 aims to bring the thrill of exploration and the excitement of a launch to everyone's hands. The actual Blue Origin New Shepard stands 59 feet tall and fires its BE-3 engine for 110 seconds, producing 110,000 pounds of thrust. The vehicle ascends through the clouds, soaring more than 60 miles above the ground and into the vacuum of space. During this journey, the passengers experience the exhilaration of weightlessness.

The capsule, housing the newly minted astronauts, then falls through the atmosphere under parachutes and touches down lightly on a cloud of dust. The boosters that kick up the dust allow the capsule to make a gentle landing, at a speed of a mile an hour or less.

The Estes Blue Origin New Shepard 2198 is a 1/66th scale model of the Blue Origin New Shepard launch vehicle. It flies to an altitude of up to 400 feet on a C5-3 or C6-3 engine. The model is an easy-to-assemble, beginner-level rocket with pre-colored parts.

Recommended engines for the Estes Blue Origin New Shepard 2198 are the C5-3 and C6-3, which are sold separately. The projected altitude for this model is 400 feet (122 meters) on a C6-3 engine, and the estimated assembly time is 10 minutes.

The Estes model rockets are recommended for ages 10 and up, with adult supervision for those under 12 years old.
